The reform of regional State administration came into force on 1 January 2010. Under the reform, the tasks of the Regional Environment Centres have been transferred to the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. In regard to environment permits, however, the Regional Environment Centres' tasks pertaining to permitting and the tasks of the Environmental Permit Authorities have been transferred to the new Regional State Administrative Agencies.
The new Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and the new Regional State Administrative Agencies do not have a web site in English yet, only the front page is available in English.
Regional environmental information produced by the former Regional Environment Centres and new environmental information produced by the new Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment is available at the www.environment.fi website.
Environmental permits issued before 2010 are archived at the www.environment.fi website.
